Using Hyperthermia As An Alternative Breast Cancer Treatment

By article On November 4, 2010 Under Uncategorized

James Haim Bicher MD is one of the pioneers in the area of Hyperthermia, and 26 years ago he founded the Valley Cancer Institute, where he is now the director. Patients from all over the globe have been successfully treated with VCI. The combination of Hyperthermia with low dose radiation effectively treats cancer with few or no side effects.

This is how Dr James Bicher MD applies this method: He heats up the tumor to about 104 degrees Fahrenheit with the localized Hyperthermia machines (treatment is not painful). The heat works to increase the circulation of the blood and it also oxygenates the blood, which increases oxygenation of the cancer cells. In the presence of oxygen, cancer cells become more sensitive to radiation, thus making them vulnerable and susceptible to damage and destruction. The tumor deteriorates and disappears due to the impact of the combination of heat with low dose pinpointed radiation (IMRT). Dr James Haim Bicher MD was the first person to use this combination of things. In addition, the Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy treats only the tumor, by taking its shape and therefore decreasing the damage, in many cases, on healthy tissue.

The benefits of hyperthermia therapy are specifically invaluable when treating breast cancer, since the disfiguring effects of mastectomy can be avoided. Women would certainly choose Hyperthermia Therapy if they understood that this cure could leave them not only healty, but still womanly and beautiful, with the added benefit of having the lowest possibility of the cancer recurring. In most cases, having surgery and “cutting” the tumor is unsuccessful in getting rid of the cancer. Women do not lose their hair or feel weak; neither do their immune systems get exhausted in the effort of fighting cancer, which unfortunately is often noticed during chemotherapy or high dose (normal) radiation.

One very annoying and uncomfortable side effect of radiation therapy is what happens to the skin of the area being treated. Your skin reaction will resemble what happens when you get a sunburn, as it will have some redness or pink color, and will itch, burn, be sore, and possibly peel.

Chemotherapy, which is the other most common conventional treatment for cancer, uses medicine to weaken and destroy any cancer cells found at the original cancer site or any that have traveled to other parts in the body. Chemotherapy, or “chemo”, goes through the entire body through the bloodstream, and this is called a systemic therapy. The most common side effects from chemotherapy are diarrhea, nausea, memory loss, anemia, hair loss, fatigue, and infection.

Dr Bicher has dedicated his whole life in the study, research and practice of Hyperthermia and its uncountable benefits, as he believes the human body should be harmed as little as possible when it is fighting cancer. Dr Bicher presented his latest research results, at the XIX International Hyperthermia Society Meeting in Koln in Germany and the Society of Thermal Medicine Meeting in Florida.

It is the human organism itself eventually, that strengthens and fights off the cancer holistically, and that is why its chance for the cancer returning decreases. With lower side effects and increased effectiveness, and significant pain reduction, Hyperthermia combined with low dose pinpointed radiation, gives better results while improving survival and quality of life.
