NFL Betting – Oakland Against San Francisco

By article On December 1, 2010 Under Uncategorized

NFL sport betting letdown carries on to expand for the losing 49ers who were a preseason NFL sports gambling fave to win the NFC West. Football wagering oddsmakers have been impressed with the hard play of the Oakland raiders who have shown solid NFL sports gambling progress.

The 49ers will host the Raiders on Sunday.  San Francisco opened as a 6 point fave over Oakland at the sports book with an over/under of 40.5.  Kickoff on CBS is slated for 4:10 PM Eastern.

The Raiders have a record of 2-3 both straight up and with the NFL football betting probabilities.  Oakland has risen over the total in four out of 5 competitions.  A week ago Oakland upset San Diego 35-27 as 7 point home long shots to snap a 2 game losing streak.

Special teams and turnovers were the essential factor in the win over San Diego and Jason Campbell came off the bench to head two 2nd half scoring drives as quarterback for the hurt Bruce Gradkowski.  Michael Bush ran for 104 yards while Campbell passed for 159 yards and a td.

Oakland has a much greater offense this year that rates 11th in the NFL for scoring whereas the defense continues to be stressed and ranks 28th for points granted.  McFadden has 392 yards rushing for the year.  Gradkowski is sketchy for Sunday.

The San Francisco 49ers are falling apart in front of the whole country and have a record of 0-5 straight up and 2-3 with the NFL betting odds as they have gone below the total in only 1 game so far this year.  The winning formula of a power running game and powerful defense that made them an 8-8 squad in 2009 has deserted San Francisco this year.

The san francisco 49ers rank 30th in the NFL for rushing and 31st in scoring.  The defense ranks 27th for points granted.

Qb Alex Smith, who had a great comeback season last year, was dreadful in last week’s 27-24 loss to Philadelphia as his fumble that was returned for a td almost got him pulled as he quarreled with embattled head coach Mike Singletary.  Smith will start Sunday but his job is in jeopardy.

Smith was the first in total pick in the 2005 NFL Draft from the University of Utah Utes. To date he has not really lived up to the distinction of being a first pick. His work basically has not made waves in the world of football. Singletary is a former linebacker for the Chicago Bears and is a Pro football Hall of Fame inductee. His coaching career began as linebackers coach for the Baltimore Ravens, then for the 49ers. He became head coach in 2008 following serving as the interim head coach when Mike Nolan was let go. To date his coaching record with the san francisco 49ers has been a vulnerable 13-17.

Oakland has competed better football than San Francisco and the 49ers are in such a hole that their sense of urgency could be lacking.  On the other hand San Francisco has nothing to lose which may make them a threatening NFL wagering asset.
