Mac Vs PC Who Gets Your Vote?

Mac v PC? It’s the eternal question from the days when computers first made it into our homes. Which one would get your vote? What is better and worse about each machine?

The stats show that Microsoft and PCs have a 90% stake in the market with Apple Macs around 7%. This is mainly due to their different business models. Microsoft designed their operating system and licensed it to various PC manufacturers.PCs became more accessible to the man on the street, due to the competition between rival computers manufacturers driving prices down. Apple took a different route, they designed their operating system to only be compatible with their hardware, which meant they sold less units but were able to keep the prices of the machines high.

It is generally assumed that Mac users are designer types, artists, musicians and the like. With PC fans being straight laced bores. Although these stereotypes maybe amusing, they couln’t be further from the truth.

It is staggering just how powerful both these machines are these days. Although the functionality of the machines essentially achieves the same goals, the operating platforms certainly have their differences.These differences include the layout and function of any given application, ie Internet Explorer or Safari. With both of these programs achieving the same thing, in the end it comes down to the personal choice of the user.

Mac vs PC, is therefore not the huge debate it used to be. No one machine is better or worse. All it actually comes down to, is what your main purpose for the computer is? And how much money you have to spend?

Macs are generally assumed to be better for design, music and video etc.. And of course usage with Iphones, Ipods and Ipads. While PCs usage also covers the same although to a perhaps lesser extent, PCs are better for a more broad usage spectrum.
